Commuter Information
We're excited to have your student join us for BYU's ACT & College Prep Camp! This guide provides important information specific to commuter participants. Please review the following details carefully to help ensure a smooth and safe experience throughout the week.
Meals for Commuters
Commuter participants will receive lunch and dinner each day (Monday-Friday) as part of their registration. Breakfast is not included, but your participant is more than welcome to purchase breakfast at the Cannon Center where the camp will begin each morning.
If your student would like to eat at the Cannon Center, here are the details:
- Breakfast: $10.80 (served 6:30-9:00a.m.)
Please note: The Cannon Center does not accept cash. Payment options include debit card, credit card, or a BYU dining gift card (available at any campus Creamery location).
Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
Each commuter will be assigned to a counselor group for the week. Students do not need to notify staff in advance if they plan to attend the evening activities, but they must verbally check in with their counselor at the start of each evening activity and check out before leaving for the night. Texting is not an acceptable method for check-in or check-out.
While evening participation is not required, it is strongly encouraged. These activities are designed to help students connect, have fun, and get the most out of the camp experience. Each night concludes at 9:45 p.m., and pick-up should occur at the designated location for that day:
- Monday-Wednesday: Wilkinson Center roundabout
- Thursday & Friday: Harman Building
If a commuter needs to leave earlier than 9:45 p.m., they may do so -but they must communicate directly with their counselor before departing.
Commuters may drive themselves to and from campus if permitted by their parents. However, they are still required to check in and out in person with their counselor each evening.
Daily Drop-Off Location
Tuesday-Friday, commuters should arrive by 9:00 a.m. at the Tanner Building. A staff member will be present to greet and help them find their group.
Thank you for helping us create a positive and safe experience for all participants! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to the Test Prep Office at (801) 422-3550 or testprep@byu.edu.
